Terms and conditions - Summer courses

Minimum age required on course starting date: 18 years old or minors aged 16 to 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We accept groups of minors from age 14 only if part of a fully organised tour.
Obligations of the Company
1. During this agreement the Company shall provide the client with the following services:
a. Provide 15 or 25 hours of English Language Tuition by a Qualified or experienced tutor in one of our nominated courses.
b. Arrange if required………….. hours of ancillary recreational activities.
c. Arrange if required the provision of suitable accommodation for the client.
d. Arrange any Airport/ Train Station Transfer if required by the client.
Payments and Fees
1. Payment of the agreed fee must be paid in full fourteen days prior to the commencement date of the course. For all late payments made after the due date, a penalty fee of 3% will be charged. Comprehensive details of our fees are available in the Company’s brochure.
2. A minimum deposit of 30% of the fees or the full fees are required to secure a reservation for TLC courses. TLC will issue a letter of acceptance if required on reception of the minimum deposit.
3. There is a £30 registration charge per student which is non-refundable.
4. Preferred method of payment:
a. International Bank Transfer (please arrange your bank transfer and fax a copy of the transfer documents). You must pay all bank charges at your end.
b. Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard or AMEX) through Paypal plus a 4% supplement for bank charges. Send an email to receive a Paypal invoice to payments@taysidelanguagecentre.co.uk
c. Cheque (in Sterling) Please post at least thirty days before the start date plus £10 supplement for bank charges.
Accident and Medical Insurance
All clients must obtain appropriate insurance prior to attending the requested course and provide documentary evidence detailing the clients name and date of insurance cover. For the avoidance of any doubt EU clients must obtain private insurance with receipt of the E111 card not being sufficient evidence of indemnity.
Liability
The Company and its staff and representatives will not be liable for loss, damage or injury to persons or property howsoever caused, except where the liability is expressly imposed by law.
The Company will not be liable in the event that any service contracted to be supplied by the Company becomes impossible to supply for any reason or any cause outside the control of the Company.
The Company will not be held liable for any failure in the provision of or standard of accommodation which is outside of the Company’s control.
The Company will not be held liable for any failure in the provision of or standard of recreational activities which are outside of the Company’s control. For the avoidance of any doubt when there is a failure in the provision of accommodation or recreational activities outside of the Company’s control any legal remedy will be between the client and the accommodation provider or another third party, as the case may be, which is responsible for the failure to provide accommodation or activities or to ensure that such accommodation or activities are satisfactory.
Cancellation
We will retain £30 for cancellation by the client before the start date and the fee for one week's tuition for cancellation less than one week before the start date. We will refund all course fees if cancelled by us. Bank or Paypal charges are non-refundable.

We need a minimum of 4 enrolments to run the course at the price shown. If the minimum number of enrolments for the course to run is not reached, we may reduce the number of hours of the course.
Promotional Activity
Clients and their parents or guardians, where applicable, agree that the Client’s photo, quotes and details of achievements may be used for promotional purposes (printed and online) without written consent or notification.
Data Protection.
Any information provided to the Company may be held on computer or in paper format and shall be used in accordance with its data protection registration and the national data protection laws applicable. A copy of our privacy policy is available on request.
Force Majeure
The Company is not liable in the event where it is unable to fulfil any service to which it is contractually bound because of fire, natural disasters, acts of government, failure of suppliers or subcontractors, labour disputes or other reasons which are outside its control.
Jurisdictional Clauses
The terms and conditions of this contract will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. All disputes arising out of or relating to this contract will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
